Breaking the Frame
Opens August 14, 2021. Experience the unexpected in the North American debut of Breaking the Frame, featuring one of the earliest photographs taken by a female artist, unusual subject matter from the biggest names in photography, and portraits from photo studios in West Africa and India. 

This exhibition is organized by Curatorial Exhibitions, Pasadena, California in association with the Solander Collection.
Atlantic Whales and Vessel Strikes: Challenges and Opportunities  
August 17, 2021. Join the Canadian Whale Institute’s Senior Scientist, Moira Brown, in conversation with ROM’s Burton Lim and Jacqueline Miller, as they explore the threat to Great Whale populations from encounters with ocean-going vessels.

ROMKids Virtual Family Workshops

Since the late 1980s, fantasy coffins from Ghana have received significant attention from curators and the art world, so much so that miniature coffins were developed in response. Join ROM’s Silvia Forni, Curator of Global Africa, as she shares fascinating insights into a miniature coffin in the shape of a chilli pepper.
Labours of Love
Attracting a mate is not easy, and for birds, it often involves elaborate courtship rituals to find the perfect partner. From waxwings to warblers, explore some of the unique courtship behaviours found in birds seen around Ontario.
